July - August 2022
Part 16

Tuesday, July 5, 2022: I still have my Ginjirotchi around on my 25th anniversary edition P1. Due to pausing he is still here since I wasn't able to care for him when we were away on our long weekend! (which was a ton of fun!!). I am trying to get around to giving him regular sleep/wake days now but it is hard when I am so wrapped up in Pokemon! :-) Mesutchi & Osutchi have remained on pause in the Pipotchi/Kabutchi stage since I last wrote. I've also been running my pocket Pikachu G2 for the last week! I will write more about that now when I get into my Pokemon writing. :-) Last night I bought a copy of Pokemon Silver for GameBoy Color! Even though I've played Silver/Gold/Crystal on the 3DS I wanted to play it in it's original form -- Plus I want to connect it with my Pokemon Pikachu G2! I will definitely write about that when the time comes. 999 watts on the Pikachu equals 1 rare candy on the gameboy game which is very cool to me!! I am taking my time playing Silver version on the GBC and following a step by step guide so that I don't miss anything. I know for certain that I missed a ton of things when I played them on the 3DS and it drove Shawn absolutely nuts! ;-D. This time I will do things right. I don't know if I'll be able to catch *all* of the Pokemon along the way but I will sure give it a try!!!!! Something I have realized about Pokemon in the last couple of months is that I love it just as much as I did when I was deep into Tamagotchi and virtual pets. I don't mind playing the same games over and over again because I'm always learning something new each time I play the game over (specifically silver version). It is much the same as how I played the P1/P2 Tams over and over again and never got bored with them. I have *a lot* to catch up on with Pokemon and I may never play all the games. But I sure have a lot to look forward to. :-) I'm enjoying every minute of it! The great thing about the hand held games is that I can play them outdoors in the nice weather. Thursday, July 7, 2022: Two nights ago I put a new battery in my Pocket Pikachu GS since the LCD screen was glitching a lot. I was worried that something was wrong with the unit itself but thankfully it just needed a new battery. :-) I was happy to see a download option so I didn't loose my progress. Last night I connected with Pokemon Silver on my GBC and it was a fun and exciting experience for me. That was definitely a huge deal for the time that it came out in (1999-2000). I will be getting lots more steps in with Pikachu so that I can get more rare candy! Every little bit helps along the journey. :-) Pikachu did the cutest little animation that I had never seen before when he sent the gift over to my Game Boy! I can't wait to do it again later!! 8:20PM: I got Pikachu up to 649W as of right now so it looks like I may be able to average a rare candy every second day if I keep *somewhat* active and cheat a little by shaking his case, hehe. I've been noticing just how cute his little animations are since all my other virtual pets are paused at the moment. Friday, July 8, 2022: I was very happy to find out that there are other Pokemon fans in a new Tamagotchi & Virtual pet group I recently joined on Facebook called "Tinkerville". I admitted in a post that I am not as much into vpets since April when I got into Pokemon and got a few responses. :-) I got another rare candy from Pikachu today and continuing to play Pokemon Silver on my GBC. I made it to Ecruteak City and defeated the Kimono Girls a little while ago and now taking a break to write here. Our Rogers internet is down along with the rest of Canada today. I am definitely glad I have lots of cellular data or I wouldn't be able to update my pages or do anything on the internet! I am very thankful not to have all of my technology bundled with Rogers, or any company for that matter. :-) Saturday, July 9, 2022: I got out for another walk today with Pikachu! Matt and Binks came along too but I left them at the bridge so that I could get an *actual* walk in. :-) Binks had a great time and I got a great photo of him after I finished my walk. There he is in all of his glory atop one of the trail fences! He is the most brilliant boy! If I get out and walk every day then I can average a rare candy (999 watts) from Pikachu every second day, or an ether every single day (500 watts). I feel like both of those items are very good ones above everything else because you can't buy them in the mart and they don't appear once a day on trees! I took a photo of what each amount of watts is worth. It is a great motivator for me to get out walking since sitting there shaking Pikachu is rather boring and I can't shake him and play my GBC at the same time. SO exercise wins in this case! I watched "Beverly Hills 90210" while playing Pokemon Silver this afternoon and evening. Matt wanted to watch "Shameless" and I've gotten tired of it so I decided to come upstairs and update my page. My Tamagotchi's (P1, Mesutchi Osutchi) are all still on pause until further notice. Pikachu requires pretty much no attention ::hehe:: Pokemon has really stolen all of my attention for right now. On the subject of virtual pets I want to write about the fact that my Mom has organized a perfect space for all my Tamagotchi and virtual pets, including my small collection of Furby and plush toys. I will post a picture that she took for me because it is the cutest little setup ever. I have a small portion of my collection here at the apartment but I'd rather keep the majority of them at Mom's house since she has home insurance. I am down there every second day or so I have access to all of it 24/7! :-) It is actually Sunday now but it's still Saturday to me. I just wanted to write and say that I put 500 watts towards an ether from Pikachu mystery gift. :-) These will come in handy when I go up against the Elite Four! Tuesday, August 2, 2022: I always seem to fall behind on writing in the summer time. I love the summer time but I am going to love late August and early September even more. I love the fall! And I don't mind winter either. Fall is definitely my favorite. Right now we are having temperatures in the high 20s but it went down to 21 just a little while ago. I've been getting quite a few steps in with Pikachu but all of his watts go to giving rare candy and ether on Pokemon Silver. :-D I beat all of the trainers and now trying to figure out how I could possibly "catch em' all". I've never completed the Pokedex in any of my games so far....! I am also doing a replay of Leaf Green (going back and forth between my GBA and DS Lite). Tamagotchi wise things have been slow. I mated my Gen3 Mesutchi Osutchi adults last week because Donald wanted to see the mating sequence, but other than that they have remained on pause. My Ginjirotchi on the 25th anniversary P1 is also on pause. I find I've never been much good at running virtual pets in hot summer weather.... Another reason why I love the feeling of upcoming cooler months!!!! :-D My friend China was home for two weeks in July so I literally had no time for video games or virtual pets. I did bring Pikachu on quite a few walks though. :-) Wednesday, August 10, 2022: Matt reformatted and reinstalled Mac OS Catalina on my 2014 MacBook Pro today. It's literally like I am using a brand new computer! :-D I definitely won't need to go out and buy a brand new MacBook just yet. I've always loved this MacBook so the longer I can get out of it the better! This was the last line of MacBook to have all the ports (USB, ethernet, SD card slot) plus the DVD/Cd drive! This is completely unheard of now. Sometimes newer is not always better! Sunday, August 28, 2022: My MacBook is still working great!! *knock on wood* I wish I had let Matt do this sooner but better late than never right? :-) Tonight I decided to take my paused Ginjirotchi out of stasis. He is a 15 year old and slightly on the demanding side...! I am still so happy I was able to get him on my 25th anniversary P1 since it's so hard to get Ginjirotchi/Pochitchi on the remakes. I also of course still have my paused Mesutchi Osutchi pair upstairs which have remained that way since the day I mated them to show Donald! I'm really not sure what I want to run in the autumn months besides doing a Devilgotchi run!! As anyone who reads this knows, I took a long break from Animal Crossing: New Horizons in 2022 so far. Well two days ago I started working on my town of Ginjro again! I really regret demolishing the town I had back in November of last year. I was trying for a Mario World layout/design and I failed miserably with it. I lost motivation completely. After going off on a Pokemon tangent since the middle of April, I feel refreshed and ready to give Animal Crossing another try. I am currently enjoying the final fireworks show for the month of August while I write this. :-) I have already started decorating for Autumn/Halloween on my island!! Hehehehe. |
