New Horizons Part 1 Sunday, March 15, 2020: With just five days until the release of this long awaited game, I have decided to get a page ready. :) I was very undecided as to whether or not I was going to do a blog or not but with the encouragement of Shawn as well as Matthew, I've decided to do it. I am soooo excited! I have my game pre-ordered at my local EB Games so I will be heading over there as soon as I get up on Friday. I've been playing the Nintendo Switch now since December 25th and keeping busy with games like Stardew Valley, Super Mario Brothers U Deluxe, Mario Kart, along with several original Super Nintendo and NEs games that came free with the yearly membership I purchased. I am so thankful to have the Nintendo Switch! It is better than I ever imagined. With that being said, I've still been making small amounts of time for my town of Ginjro on New Leaf (3DS version) and I will probably do an update on the New Leaf blogs at some point. Once I reached perfect town status last summer I stopped blogging, but I kept playing A LOT. I got to experience winter for the first time in the game this year. :D Sooo fun and cute! Anyways.... I will be updating this page on Friday as soon as I get my game. ______________________________________________________________________________ Wednesday, March 18, 2020: With just two more days until the release of the game, I am starting to get anxious as to whether or not I'll buy able to buy myself a physical copy of Animal Crossing New Horizons or not. I know that I can download it off the store like I have several others, but I just really wanted to get a cartridge version of it.... It's important to me. I never got a physical copy of New Leaf so I guess in the end it would be okay... We will see what Friday brings. I've been taking notes since the 20th and began writing on the 23rd... ______________________________________________________________________________ Friday, March 20, 2020: My first day on the island! I was greeted by Timmy and Tommy at the airport and then it sunk in that it was real! I've been waiting so long for this game to come out and it's finally here! I had to confirm my screen name and date of birth before beginning. Then I was taken to Ginjro Island where I met Tom Nook and my other two villagers; Ribbot and Fuchsia! We had a little gathering and then I went and setup my tent. I gave Ginjro Island its name and then became the towns representative. Tom Nook had me go and collect branches for a fire and pears for some juice to drink! We had a toast to celebrate the new arrival to town! After that I walked around a little and went to bed for the night. :) Real time began after I woke up from my sleep! When I woke, I had a knock at the door from Tom Nook and that is when things got moving. I went to the craft station and made a fishing rod, an ax, a net, and proceeded to catch several fish and bugs. It was at this time that I learned about Nook Miles and how great they are. It took me an hour or so but I finally figured out how to claim my miles. I also collected tons of bells to go towards getting a new house! I was going along my way shaking trees when I got stung by a nest of wasps! I needed medicine ASAP! I am perplexed as to why there are no bridges but Shawn told me I will have to build those myself at a later date. I DO NOT like this. But okay. I spent most of the rest of the evening just puttering around learning the layout of the place. :) ______________________________________________________________________________ Saturday, March 21, 2020: I got my house today! Yay! I tinkered around and organized the few things that I own at this point. After that I headed over to Nooks tent and got instructions from Timmy to gather 30 peices of regular wood, hardwood and softwood for the construction of the Nooks Cranny shop. This took longer than I expected, but it was fun! After this I visited Blathers in his little tent! I had to collect 15 items (fish, fossils, bugs, etc) to donate to him before construction could begin on the museme. I managed to do this really quickly. :) I finally managed to get all the necessary wood and supplies for Timmy and then we picked out a spot for the store to be built. I then claimed my Nook Miles and got Nook Miles tickets, and took several island trips where I collected coconuts to plant on the shoreline. :) They will look great when they grow! Shawn and I got together at my town this evening and we exchanged fruits. I gave him pears and he gave me peaches. :) I planted them around my town and looking forward to them bearing fruit! ______________________________________________________________________________ Sunday, March 22, 2020: I woke up to cloudy skies and eventually it started raining! Tom Nook announced the completion of the Nooks Cranny store, but Blathers is still under construction. With these two things completed, Tom Nook gave me new tasks to complete. I had to pick out 3 plots of land and then complete mandatory items to go in each home. It was time consuming but a lot of fun. :) It took me the full day of playing with breaks in between but finally got it all done before bedtime. I had to do several different DIY projects but it was so worth it. I will have one villager move into each house now every day after this one. Got one bridge built! Yay! It makes moving around a little easier. I can't wait until I'm able to make more!! ______________________________________________________________________________ Monday, March 23, 2020: Today was much more relaxing, and by days end I was feeling a lot better mentally as well. So I got things setup in my room here at my Moms place, and started playing on the TV. It was SOO nice. I can't describe how happy I am tucked into bed and adventuring through my little town. The museme is now open for business and I've made several donations. Midge moved to town today! (Such a cute character... Really love her.. Reminds me of Deena). I made one trip to the island but met no new characters this time. ______________________________________________________________________________ Tuesday, March 24, 2020: A sunny day today! My house got bigger and now I have the mortgage of 198,000 bells which I plan to pay off ASAP. Drago moved to town today so I introduced myself. The drop off box at Nooks Cranny is absolutely amazing. When I came out of my house first thing today, I got a call from Timmy saying that my bells had been deposited into my account for the items I left in the drop box last night. I can foresee a lot of late night fishing in the future... :-) Midge gave me a gift today, and I don't know if it was the painting set or the automatic washing machine. Either way it's probably the best gift any villager has ever given to me. I took a trip to collect some things with my Nook Miles ticket, but it was a very short trip because I forgot to empty my pockets before departing. I took another trip in the evening which was more successful. I also took a trip over to TwinLeaf (Shawn's town) and he gave me apples and peaches. I will owe him some pears the next time he visits me. Later in the evening I met a little ghost, who I actually frightened and had to help him find his "soul" whisps. It was pretty darn cute..! Now I'm just updating these pages and uploading pictures and videos to Twitter. I need to get a page together to post some of my best photos, or incorporate them into the blog somehow. For now I'm off to do more fishing and bug catching! Viva Ginro! ______________________________________________________________________________ Wednesday, March 25, 2020: Victoria moved to Ginjro Island today! Sunny day again! Tom Nook announced that there will be construction done on his tent (Yay!). I'm thinking this means Isabelle will be appearing again soon....! I only played for a little while this afternoon and then got really tired and decided to watch Derry Girls on Netflix instead. I've been playing more this evening, catching fish, bugs, and cutting wood to store away. Very relaxing time indeed! I'm looking forward to being able to build some bridges to make getting around the island a bit easier. I think once Tom Nooks new location is built I'll be able to build bridges with more ease... But it's going to cost some heavy bells I hear. I'm still working on saving up enough Bells to pay off my loan in full--I still have 98,000 left owing on this one. Gotta keep fishing and growin' that fruit!! ______________________________________________________________________________ Thursday, March 26, 2020: Resident services is under construction today and not a whole lot happening. There have been no new residents to move in today either so things are slow. I met Blathers sister, Celeste passing through town and she told me about the upcoming meteor shower this evening. She is also really adorable and makes fun of how much her brother talks which I found extremely funny. :-) After a nice chat with her, I ran into Drago and he gave me a gorgeous little fountain which I ended up setting up in front of my house. Love it!! And of course I did a ton of fishing and putting away bells for projects. :-) ______________________________________________________________________________ Friday, March 27, 2020: Resident services has been fully renovated! Bigger, better, and nicer looking all around. Upon playing for a few minutes I noticed a different tune playing, and after an hour passed I realized that the tune changes every hour! I'm so happy! I was getting tired of hearing the same tune play for every hour that passed the last week. Now I know that a new tune will play hourly like all the previous versions of this game. I picked a spot for a second bridge and I anticipate building more as the days go on. I visited Jonathan's and Shawn's town several times this evening. There was an actual party of people visiting Jonathan's town (Cyclonia) and that's the most number of people I've ever seen play at the same time. :-) I managed to snag an orange over at Jonathan's town and planted my first orange in Ginjro when I got home. This brings me up to 4 different types of fruit trees now. I can't wait to get a forest of fruit trees to earn more bells! That is how I make a lot of my money in past games.... I don't know if perfect fruit will be a thing in this game... My final task of the evening was crafting the campsite and choosing its location. Done! ______________________________________________________________________________ Saturday, March 28, 2020: Isabelle greeted me this morning when I turned on the game! I guess this will be a regular thing now. I visited my friend Nik's town (CrazyTown) today and had a look around. I've been extremely anxious today so I've not been taking as many notes. I did do quite a bit of fishing today but other than that not much to write about. I am really falling in love with Midge.. She is just the sweetest little thing and she reminds me of Deena. She asked me for a few favors today and she is just so cute that I couldn't say no to her. She gave me a shallow knit cap as a thank you. I'm wearing it now. :) Pages Created by Dennis J.
